startup items

Hi

I use windows 8.1 and I use windows firewall plus windows defender.

I have a lot of items on my startup menu, but I don't know which ones I really need.

Do I use task manager to stop some of these unwanted programs starting when my computer boots up?

Would be thankful for some help pls :)
