Win8 installed on my netbook - activated on 09/11/2012
Initial check said my netbook was compatible.
Win8 installed well, and worked smooth and fast.
2 days later, win8 did the first update, then wow things went wrong.
No internet, lots of new programs installed, all of which refused to work as my maximum screen resolution was not sufficient.
Fixed by restoring to win7. Then Microsoft kindly help out and fixed a win8 with internet connectivity.
2 days later next update really messed things up.
win8 reported netbook damaged, and a refresh was needed. NO OPTION, no X to close.
Only option click on REFRESH.
Clicked on refresh. So now going back to win7 is nolonger an option.
I have in the past installed Windows, Windows 2, Windows 3, upgraded to Windows 3.11 so stable.
Installed Windows 98, good for graphics and video.
Then VISTA, very glad when I upgraded to Windows 2000, then Windows XP.
BEWARE win8 is worse than VISTA, a lot worse.
My advice...KEEP CLEAR ... DO NOT UPGRADE.
The refresh removed the following......

Microsoft tried to fix, then ran away. Offered a refund, even gave me a refund telephone number.
Finally got through to a very sensible, helpful Microsoft man,
who warned me that if I took the refund, then win8 would then be illict, and would stop working.
