So I have a Gateway (yes, Gateway) laptop, with Windows 8. Up until yesterday, I had absolutely no problems. But now, my computer says it's connected, but doesn't have internet access. Now, I started fiddling around with it, opening the trouble shooting window, etc. I found out, that (at least on this computer, in this problem), it SAYS no internet connection, but if I keep the trouble shooting window open, I can go to any site, play any games, etc etc. But if the trouble shooting window is closed, I can't surf the net, or play any games. So it seems to me, that the only way I can have internet access now, is if I have the trouble shooting window open... I have no clue about what has happened to my computer, and/or, internet connection. My mom and her boyfriend have the exact same laptop, and they haven't experienced this problem. Please help?
