Windows 8

I just bought a new Asus x55a-spd020 on the 27th. I was trying to delete a duplicate file in my download folder. It wouldn't do anything so I pressed delete several times and i pressed on the end program now. A message came up stating that 2 different programs were running so it couldn't close. then all of the sudden they went off. My screen then went blank, all I had on it was the cursor.
I turned my pc off and on several times with the power button and it still has a blank screen with the cursor. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
