I need some major help. I got a Toshiba Satellite with Windows 8 for Christmas; it came with Norton Symantec Internet Security installed and Webroot Secure Everywhere in the box to be installed (which I did). Everything seemed to work fine but I didn't do much with it other than surf the net.
I've only been able to download effectively is Yahoo! Messenger and that was more than a month ago. Now anytime I try to download something I get the status bar with "Run/Save/Cancel", when I hit Run the download won't go past 1% and then quits. It will say "Running security scan" before it quits in that status bar first. Then when I look in my dowloads folder there is nothing there! It doesn't matter if I save then run either.
Now it seems to be effecting my Norton anti-virus as well. The program won't seem to initialize and it's saying that my last Live Update was on 2/19/13. When I click "Fix" it goes through checking/processing/installing updates but apparently they don't go through because I keep getting the error message that the problem wasn't fixed. My computer is saying that it is 79% protected. When I click the "Support" tab, it tells me to go to the Norton website and download the Norton Remove and ReInstall file and that should help; however, I can't download anything! Sorry for the length, please help:(
