USB troubles

I had a tech redo my computer. Afterwards I could not get my commercial Ricoh printer to acknowledge my computer. I had a Ricoh tech come out to see what could be wrong. He said that my computer USB port is not recognizing my computer. However, he did not know how to fix that.
I have Windows 8.1
