Hi,
My windows 8.1 is suddenly not working (shocker). It loads incredibly slowly, then after about 5 minutes gets to the splash screen with the date and the time. The icon at this point says the internet is not loading. It will allow me to log in - again slowly - but then nothing in Windows loads. The desktop background comes up, as does the menu bar along the bottom but nothing else. Even the time doesn't load on the menu bar, and you can't click on anything. Zero functionality.
I've tried Automatic Repair (wouldn't work), I've tried Debugging Mode (just wouldn't load), I've tried System Restore (it said there were no restore points (there should be), I've tried Reinstalling Windows (it wouldn't let me as it said my drive (with Windows on it at that time) wasn't suitable - "windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style.").
The Guest account will load more than my own account. My own account lets me do nothing. The guest account allows me to load (very sluggishly) and open things (very slowly). Could this be a RAM problem?
I'm really at a loss. Everything working fine previously. Occasionally it was tough to boot but this is been like this now for a few days. Any ideas guys?
