On January 18, 2014 (under the same heading), TechGuy gave instructions on how to get rid of the shadow in the icon font: Computer -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings -> Performance > System Properties > Performance Options.
Right-clicking My Computer, I can get Properties, but then do not get Advanced System Settings - or, for that matter - any of the other options.
Is there another path for me to get to Performance Options, where I can then uncheck "use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop"
