Hi --- I have a similar issue on my Windows 8. My Acer laptop drive crashed. I got a new one. Got recovery bootable USB from ACER. In fact got two. When I ran thru the boot process from the USB, everything appeared to be OK. However, after the program tried to unpack the install.wim file, an error message flashed across the screen saying "The Specified image file did not contain a resource." USB program then finished and said to remove USB and reboot. I did and then after it restarted with a recovery screen, I got an error "Restore Failed: Cannot find image path M:\RecoveryImage\Install.wim " PC is out of warranty and ACER third part tech support wants $100 at minimum with no guarantee. Also, I had tried reloading an image I made last year but recovery CD won't read the image on my external drive. But it does see old windows 7 images. Thanks for any help. I've put hours into this and no luck with windows but it does boot up on Ubuntu, btw.
