I find my new Asus K750JN laptop with windows 8.1 quite slow and I wonder if this is due to OS configuration. The specs: Intel i7-4700HQ, 2.4GHz, 4 Cores, 8 Logical Processors, 750GB HDD, 8GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 840M
The only program running in the Task Manager is Nvidia GeForce Experience Backend which I dont know yet what is for and I have deleted almost all Metro Apps since I have no use for them. What I mean by slow is that when I click to open a program like the file explorer or any other program it hesitates for a few seconds before the program opens
In comparison, my 7 years old Dell Inspiron with Intel Core Duo T7200 2.0GHz, 140GB HDD, 2GB RAM and Vista Home, when I click the file explorer or any other program they come on instantly
Perhaps this is a characteristic of windows 8.1 since its a much bigger OS?
Im looking if there are any configuration tips to maximize the speed / efficiency of this laptop
