Windows 8 Laptop Not Burning DVDs Anymore .... Still Burns CDs Though

I Have An Acer Aspire M 15.6 inch laptop

With a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GU61N Drive in Devie Manager

All of a sudden I Can't Burn DVD's Anymore ....

I can still burn cd's ... but not dvd's ...

I reloaded my entire system to no avail and cannot burn dvds again

I went into the registry and deleted the higher and lower filters and it started working again for a while

but now it has stopped again ... and yet once again .... there are no filters in the registry now so i have no idea what to do
