a required deice isnt connected or cant be accessed

Hi guys

Windows 8 has been acting up recently, every now and again my computer will blue screen and restart with the message

error-code-0xc000000f-windows-8-a-required-device-isnt-connected-or-cant-be-accessed

so far i have noticed that if you leave the computer off for a while or change the hard drive to a different sata port it will work fine for a while then do the same thing.

also i have done a full clean install with windows 8 and the same issue has occured a couple of days later.

i have a feeling its the hard drive going bad but how can i be sure?

some hard drive utilities have reported "end to end error - fail" but others have said there is no issues.
