I upgraded to Windows 8 on my laptop from win 7. Everything worked fine. Then I got a notification about the free upgrade to 8.1 so I went the windows store and downloaded the update. the first update failed so I did it again. this one did not go smoothly but finally completed. Everything seemed to be fine except Internet explorer 11 did not load. It just spun for about 10 seconds and nothing. I have tried everything I know to do.including reinstalling win 8.1, turning off IE and then turning it back on, checking for missing dll and nothing works. I don't want to do a hard reinstall and lose all my programs and data. I'm using Chrome which works fine but some programs require IE. Can you help. I've looked online and on microsofts website but my particular problem hasn't been posted.
