I'm getting the dreaded Error 1962 when I try to turn on my computer.
It's a Lenovo IdeaCentre K410 running 64-bit Windows 8. Yesterday I was working, minding my own business, when the computer started to slow down, so I rebooted, and started getting the error. I can't think of any new software or hardware I might have installed that would have caused this.
My hard drive shows up in the BIOS, and I still get the error when I put the hard drive at the start of the boot sequence. I ran a scan for bad sectors using UBCD and everything came up clean. I also used a Windows 7 install DVD I had lying around to get a DOS prompt and check c:\dir, and all my files are still there in the main partition.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
