Encryption on Windows 8

I have recently got Windows 8 on my new computer.....and it is driving me crazy!

Anyway, I cannot send any document without it arriving encrypted at it's destination.
Nor can I get it out of odt.....I think if I could, it might not arrive encrypted.

Thanks......to whomever GOD has given the ability to understand Windows 8!!
