Limited Connectivity, media disconnected

I've been reading off of this former forum, that has been closed. so i was unable to add to it and instead just created a new one.

this guy had the exact same problem i am having with my connection through my LAN. Its showing limited connectivity and i am unable to do anything on it. i have my comp hooked up through an ethernet cord right now.

when i went to use the ipconfig /release, /renew commands in teh command prompt it shows that the command cannot be made because the media is disconnected.

if you want to know teh full length of it just check out that link i posted. the guy is having the exact same issue i am having. it irritates me that it went quiet before any real solution was found.

funny thing is, i had this exact same issue about a week ago, but it fixed itself within a couple days. still, i don't want to wait a couple days, or however long it may take, for it to fix itself. someone help plz
