I've got an Asus N76V with the following specs:
CPU: Intel Core I7-3630QM, 2.4GHz
Memory: 8GB
OS: Win8
This computer wasn't cheap and I bought it specifically because I was told it would be fast, powerful, and pretty good for gaming. This isn't an exclusive gaming computer though, as I use it for just about everything. I'm very disappointed in its performance though. I've got a six year old HP that isn't nearly as powerful, but runs much faster. I especially notice it when using the internet as it takes forever to load pages and even longer if I'm trying to watch a video clip on YouTube. I thought that maybe it was just my internet, but I've used it multiple places with the same results. Is there any way to check to see what I may need to instal/uninstall to make it run better?
One other bit of information that my be helpful. When I bought the computer, it was a previously returned item. I was told that the whole thing had been wiped and reset so that it was like new. Could that have anything to do with it running the way it does? I've also experienced crashes on a couple of occasions. I'll restart my computer, log in to my account, then try to access the desktop and I will get a code that says, irql_not_less_or_equal. What does this mean and is there something I need to do to get it to stop happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
