Sleep-Wake fail: how to debug?

gang I have a gateway NV52L that works really well but just manifested something I was hoping we all left behind back in Windows VISTA days... a fail to return from Sleep. I have Windows 8 [factory/oem, debloated] just in default condition as regards sleep etc. The system was on battery, had 80% remaining, and I had just been running the Windows 8 Maintenance routine - I have no idea if that utility had anything to do with it.
It went to sleep on battery only. when I tried to reclaim, all I would get is a flashing power button light.
pulled battery, hooked to ac charger, and its fine.

the error report is below . could someone help me know what to change to not have this issue recur?
