I've just joined the multitudes who have purchased windows 8 only to discover it's a "Nightmare". A real disaster!
I am trying to find out if I can make it usable. There are a couple of free applications online which when installed are said to make the windows 8 desktop look like windows 7( Bringing back the "Start" button and allowing you to have the windows 7 desktop along with a few other things which make it easier to move about. Has anyone tried any of these applications? and if so, do they just change the appearance of the desktop or do they actually make windows 8 more user friendly and more manageable? If you have any recommendations I would be grateful to hear them.
