Local Only Network Connection

Hi,
I have an Acer Aspire V5 running Windows 8 and am having trouble connecting to the home router/modem - Netgear CGD24N v2. I can connect to other wifi hotspots (such as tethering to my phone) and other computers work with the home router, just none with windows 8.
The laptop will recognise the network, connect locally and then say 'identifying...', but rarely manages to get internet access. It has done so a couple of times, but only when right next to the router and even then, it drops out relatively quickly afterwards. It has no problems connecting to the router via ethernet cable

I've seen people ask for it before, so here is the info from command prompt in case it's any use:
