Win 8 upgrade

I upgraded from win xp sp3 to win 8 pro.after a month win 8 failed to boot.
I installed win xp sp3 again and tried to upgrade to win 8 pro.it is failing at 86%.
I tried by disabling the avg internet security also.it fails at 86%.
