Hello. Someone please kindly help me and I will be so very appreciative.
I have a pretty new computer and Windows 8. (I am not skilled in Windows 8 fyi.)
This morning I rebooted my computer. I noticed that it said it was doing some sort of update.
When the computer restarted, I lost all my files (pdf's and Word documents) that had been on my desktop. The desktop had a 'flower' in the background and seems all different.
Also, google chrome was gone, so I had to reinstall that.
Google drive 'showed' somewhere, but some prompt told me I had to reinstall that, so I reinstalled it.
When I look in google drive all of my recent files (again, lots of Word documents and pdf's) are gone: The most recent date if 12-2-12.
I need all of my files back, and I am clueless on what to do. Most of my files had been stored in Google Drive, but some I kept on the desktop. I always made a 'backup', so I thought that would protect me.
Please help me.
If anyone is in the USA and willing to speak with me, please let me know that.
