Windows 8 problems

I have inspiron 14Z, that came with windows 8 preinstalled. I have posted before that sometimes wifi connection is lost, and the system is able to resolve the problem. I had carried out the recommendations suggested by the experts, except updating the drivers, which I did today. So, it is to be seen if this has solved the problem.

I have two other problems. (1) I use a rollo ball. Very frequently, the pointer stops responding to the rollo ball. (2) I tried restoring the system to a stored restore point. But restore failed.

I shall appreciate help on these issues. Thanks.
