Solved: Transfer files from old computer to new

Hi there

I am trying to transfer files from my old computer Win Vista,to my new computer (Win 8) by removing the Hard Drive from the old machine, fitting it to a 3.5" SATA enclosure and connecting using USB cable.
My problem is the files from the old machine have appeared on the documents folder in the new computer immediately and that seems to be that.
I've obviously got something wrong somewhere ??
