I recently bought SanDisk' 32G Ready Cache SSD from Newegg to supplement my HP6200. When using the dedicated Condusiv caching SW, the drive is formatted in the HFS (Hybrid File System) and runs "alongside" the primary HD. It DOES NOT show as a separate HD in "My Computer" but yet shows in Device Mgr. So far it seems to be money well spent if boot up, shutdown times, and Apps mean anything (of course, in the big picture with Afghanistan, Iraq, NKorea, and Africa in the equation, we all appear to be spoiled brats, worrying about seconds and minutes). My cached items now total 28 of the 32G. SanDisk TS advised me to leave the Page File as "system managed" and that "Ready Boost" (which I don't use) will not speed up the system but won't create a conflict either.
BTW, has anyone tried using an SD Media card for the Page File. I am pretty sure that a page file in virtual memory is faster when written on a separate drive as the Media Card would be. As far as Ready Boost, would a media card also work in that situation?
