Solved: System Restore not working-slow search

My System Restore seems to be taking forever to search my HD's forever, doesn't seem to find any, continuous searching.
I don't know if it's related to my not being able to start Windows Defender (attachments) but my Norton is working just fine.
My laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium had not problem starting and stopping Windows Defender.:confused:
