hi
my problem is layered. first of all, I cannot open .msi files on my windows 8.1 64 bit OS laptop. The .msi file in question does work flawlessly on Vista, so it's not a matter of the file being corrupt. I have tried several things already (i checked whether the windows installer (services.msc) was disabled, unregistered & reregistered from windows installer, created a C:\temp and updated my environment variables) - NOTHING. Always the same error message: cannot open the installation package. Contact your service provider...etc etc (or something like that as I do not have the english version of windows).
So I also did an sfc scannow scan, and it confirmed that there were some problems which could not be resolved. Below I have attached the CBS log. After rebooting I also got a driver_power_state_failure.
It seems to me that there's something wrong with my windows 8.1. Could you please go over my CBS log results and tell me what I should do in order to check my windows/laptop health and secondly, be able to install normally .msi files again? THANK YOU!
My comp specs:
Asus n551jm
Windows 8.1 (64 bit) OS
Intel COre i7-4710 HQ CPU @ 2.50 GHz
RAM: 8 GB
I will try to attach the CBS log in a reply to this message, because i've tried to copy paste it already 3 times and each time the techsupport guy crashed. So i will limit myself to posting a description of the problem. Thanks for your time & help!
