I am a newbie. I've got some knowledge, but not an expert by any means.
A friend's daughter's HP Stream NoteBook PC 13 stopped working. Win 8.1 64bit.
Error Message (As far as I can remember) 'Windows has blocked access to the internet as IP address has been corrupted'.
It also blocked access to anything, but have got passed that.
Was able to run MalwareBytes and got rid of 4,578 PUPs, but apparently no viruses.
The browser,IE 10, has disappeared and I have had no luck in downloading a copy onto a memory stick from a different machine and installing it on the NoteBook.
Have got WiFi connection to internet, but always 'Page cannot be displayed' or 'You are not connected to the internet'.
Strangely Windows can still update Weather and MSN News in real time, so the connection works.
Can the Windows block be removed so that I can get back online.
