Not really sure which forum I should be putting this in, nor what to title it, but hopefully this is correct.
So, there is quite a bit to say, and I am by no means computer smart, which I will apologize for in advance.
When I jumped onto my laptop earlier, which is an MSI gt70 Dragon edition 2, I immediately noticed that it started to heat up much more than it should, as I was simply browsing the internet and watching YouTube. I later updated my Nvidia drivers to the newest update. Later in the day, I noticed that nearly none of my computers programs would launch, including word documents, skype and steam to name a few. The error given was a pretty standard ".. has stopped working".
Thinking that perhaps the Nvidia update had somehow caused this, I ended up deciding on a system restore back to the 17th. to a degree, this did work. My programs were no longer crashing, but I was left with a number of other issues. Upon trying to launch a variety of different steam games, it was clear that something was very wrong, as even the most basic games would cause my laptop to seriously stutter, with games previously getting 60fps down to about 5, and any other programs open also slowing down. My laptop could still detect all of it's components, so nothing had simply "ceased to work" as far as I can tell.
Another issue I had is that my AVG security(which I had switched off for the system restore) would no longer open whatsoever. No error at all, it simply would not respond. It would no uninstall or reinstall, either.
I attempted a system refresh from this, however, it solved absolutely nothing, and in fact seemed to create new problems, though I suppose I had not checked to see if this was a problem before doing the refresh - upon attempting to reinstall programs, a number of them would simply be stuck at 0% installation, making no progress
And so that brings me to where I am now. I have no clue where to go from here, and am more than a little concerned that my laptop, which has only just had its warranty expire, is going to be completely broken! If anybody can offer me help, I would greatly appreciate it!
Edit: I feel as though it is also worth mentioning that there have been constant "Watchdog violation" blue screens ever since this started as well, I have probably had about 6 today. None of this was an issue last night, it all started today!
