Windows 8.1 laptop Question?

I have learned that the default maintenance Task Manager is set to perform Windows Updates at 2am daily in Windows 8.1. If I check the box, "Automatically wake the computer at the scheduled time to perform the maintenance task", does this mean that EVEN WITH THE LAPTOP LID CLOSED, updates will occur at 2AM each night by default if they are available?
