Cant open any files

Hi,
This problem occurred after I installed Win 8. So I cant open files in programs. Some programs open files (paint), but programs that I use (photoshop, hl2 spray editor etc.) doesnt open files. I click on OPEN and nothing happens. Please help me I cant do nothing
