I was recently hacked and had to did a windows refresh, not a windows full reset. I am using Vipre paid antivirus and my system was hijacked. Since I do not have an internal DVD drive, VIPRE said my only recourse was to do a refresh. VIPRE works fine but the overall performance is a mess. Here are some issues:
1) takes much longer to boot up
2) after booting up and opening ie, mozilla, or chrome they all freeze up often.
3) the refresh did keep all of my files and pics. When I try to open an Excel or any other office file, I'm unable to access and have some type of path error. I tried opening excel directly from a file icon and from opening a fresh instance of excel without selecting a file. Also, did a complete reload of my Office 365 applications.
4) 90% of the time, I can not access task manager
Should I save all of my files to thumb drives and then do a full factory reset? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
