After a major crash, I reinstalled everything including Windows 8.1. This setup is the same as it was before the crash but now, my screen color is a light blue background with black print.
I have tried resetting this many times and ways but cannot get it back to something easy to read. This setup hurts my eyes. I want to get back to my original setup. After spending several days and many hours, I have not been successful.
I have been using computers since Microsoft released their first versions in the 1980's and this is the worse release I have seen for as long as I have been using Microsoft software.
I am hoping that Windows 10 will finally get it right and make life easy again like it was before Windows 8.1 but am not holding out much hope because the apparent changes in Microsoft including staff, keyboards, and programming.
Now, I find myself using my wifes Apple iPad most of the time but would rather use my desktop if it would only work because it has a larger screen and keyboard.
I also thought about reinstalling Windows 7 which worked perfectly before I made the foolish mistake of "updating" to Windows 8. My computer shop said not to do it because Windows 8 is a good product. It is probably a "good" product in their eyes because it brings in a lot of business for them.
I would do it anyway but cannot find my Windows 7 disk yet. I do not through away programs disks so will find it someday.
It has been a nightmare for me since day one. I am sorry for not being able to insert proper punctuation where needed in this posting but this Microsoft keyboard does not seem to have that English speaking feature of punctuation, or a spell checker either.
Has anyone here been able to try the pre-release trial versions of Windows 10? If so, is it really a serious update or just another lightly warmed up version of the garbage they are now jamming down our throats as an improvement. Also, does anyone here know where to get a decent, modern keyboard?
