Desync with .dnm files

Well, this is my first post here, so I'm going to keep it relatively short.

Now to the point: I work in Blender in painting aircraft .dnm files (if you're curious on using the Python scripts for doing so: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ysfsblender/ - note that this only works with Blender 2.49b and below). However, exporting said .dnm files brings up a red flag.

According to Windows File Explorer, the files have never existed.

However, according to the Blender file explorer, the files are very well there.

This suggests that the Windows File Explorer has somehow been desynced between these .dnm files.

Note that the test.txt was my way of experimenting on whether or not it was only happening to the .dnm files. That is the case: the test.txt file saved flawlessly and showed up, but that's not the case for the others.

I don't know what could be causing this, but it seems like some sort of issue Windows 8 has with .dnm files.
