I tried installing a Linux distribution by partitioning my hard drive... Near the end of the installation, I got an error message informing me that grub-install had failed. I canceled the install, and restarted my computer.
Now when Windows 8.1 is trying to load, it stops, giving me this message: "Your computer ran into an error and needs to restart. We are collecting some info, and then we'll restart for you."
There was another thread on this forum that had the same issue (http://forums.techguy.org/windows-8/...or-lenovo.html, but the thread is closed. The problem seems to be that the partition I created for Linux infringed on some invisible recovery partition... Assuming that is the problem, how do I fix it? I can't get back into Windows to look at things.
