This is lengthy, but I really need help. I was recently given a new Toshiba Laptop with touch screen for an early Christmas present from my best friend. It worked amazing, I loved everything about it. Its only about a year old, so when I say new, I mean new to me. It was his moms computer, but she upgraded and gave it to him, since he already had a laptop, he gave it to me. About a week after he went home, the issues started, the first problem was the internet stopped working, it said said there was an issue with the proxy server. I turned off proxy servers, and the internet came back. A few days later, my big issues started. None of my programs open, save for file veiwer, Windows Media Player Sound recorder and control panel. The computer turns on fine, I can log in without a hitch, but when I click on any programs or Apps, nothing. No error messages, no loading screen, it acts like I didn't do anything, accept for the few programs I listed. I tried turning back on the proxy servers, thinking it was a mistake I made, but that didn't help. The internet is only accessible through the Firefox bar that pops up at the top of the screen, but that's been buggy at best. I tried to reinstall windows, but when it downloads, it never installs, no matter how many times I try, I can't do a system restore, it won't allow that either. I went through all my anti virus and firewall settings, they are all default, so I fairly certain that those aren't affecting it. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated, I really need my laptop working soon, I can't use my phone for everything, and so far I haven't encountered anyone with a similar issue, so I haven't been able to receive help that way.
