Ok I just bought a new laptop with Windows 8.1 on it. I have played around with windows 8 and I don't like most of its features. I know there are plenty of free and cheap programs that help change the look and feel of windows 8/8.1 to be more like 7 or even xp. My question is has anyone heard of any of these programs being malicious or a trick/gimmick? Also just to clarify, most of these programs don't actually modify the OS, they just alter the look and some functionality(similiar to mods for games changing some look and function but leaving the core game intact)? Thanks.
