New computer and downloading back up from portable hard drive.

I have just purchased a Packard Bell 'imedia S2885 computer and wish to download my saved documents from remote hard drive 'core' but it does not seem to allow me to do that.

Question is why and is there any way around this problem as I have some very important documents saved.
