Keep getting the 'your PC ran in to problem' message after boot and log in

Hi, I recently upgraded by my Windows 7 laptop to Windows 8 and everything seems to be fine but I keep getting the below message after booting and logging in. Does anyone know how I can solve this issue? The only other thing I have noticed is that after 'shutdown' the screen goes off but the activity and power lights can stay on for a while, maybe 4 - 5 minutes before they turn off.
