Hi,
I've a new computer, bought in January this year. Things have been fine for the most part, but recently I've been experiencing intermittent periods of extremely high disk usage, lasting for about 20-30 seconds during which my computer is completely unresponsive - including the taskbar.
Opening up the Task Manager/Performance Monitor supposedly gives the culprit:

But I don't know how to go further. I've tried disabling all error reporting and solution-checking in the control panel, but I still experience this problem.
I suspect something bad going on in the background; any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.
