Solved: Me Again, Help With Settings, Please

Hi All,

Still loving my new Windows 8.1 Hp Pavilion!

However...
Over the past week, I've had three different tech support people take control of my computer for three different issues.
1) new Charter email account wasn't saving sent emails. That was solved after one technician took control and couldn't find the problem, but when I called back a second time, I was told how to correct that in my settings. Good.

2)A technician from Hp took control of the computer, for what, I don't remember now. Still Good.

3) An Intuit technician took control last night for about an hour, changing all kinds of settings, changing them back, then hoping from IE to FireFox and back to Quick Books again - changing all kinds of settings. When he couldn't solve the problem, he asked me if it was alright to reset the settings back to default. "I don't know, I guess so." I say.

That problem was a pop-up window immediately after I logged on to a company. It was a "Script Error: http://js-agent.newrelic.com/nr-100.js "

Well, this morning, I don't know why, but I decide to check on Java through IE. I attempted to instal and was told it was already installed and "do you was to reinstal?" I said Yes. Well, apparantly that solved the problem because that script error box is gone. Woo-hoo I say to myself!!

Well, now I have another, rather serious problem.
It appears that my Google toolbar is missing from my Firefox browser and a "us.search" is set as search default... and I can't find "us.search" in my programs to uninstal it.

When I type "Google" into the search bar, I get a warning box that says:
Quote:

This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect securely to www.google.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
What Should I Do?

If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
And it won't go to that site.
I get the same message when I type in YouTube.
In fact, even when I change from default search to "google" in the search bar, no matter what I type in there, I get this same message. Every single word you can think of, it won't search it.

I also noticed that on an internet forum, while all of the animated ads were working and I was able to view images, I was not able to view ANY videos from Youtube.

The only reason I was able to log on this site is because I have you saved in my Favorites list.

I don't have this problem using IE, only Firefox, and it wasn't an issue until after the guy last night was fiddling around with settings.

Another thing...
Since last night, when I log onto my gmail account, this is displayed over on the botton left of the screen:
Quote:

"Something's not right.
We're having trouble connecting to Google. We'll keep trying...This may be caused by network or proxy issues. Learn more."
Any idea what the problem is and how I can solve it??

edit:
When I clicked on FaceBook at the top of this page, I get the same message - "This Connection is Untrusted"
