would run T5G SysInfo but this is a question about my wifes computer, that I'm not on right now.
Her Computer is a
Gateway SX2185-UB37
AMD E1 2500 APU
Radon HD 8240
500 GB HD
8 GB DDR3 RAM (had 4 but I put another 4 G stick in there due to windows 8 being soo slow)
The 8 GB helped, but her computer still crawls, and we can't seem to figure out why,
Anyway, our problem right now is with PDF documents,
she can download & view PDF's if she downloads them,
but she's not a computer guru like me and just wants to view them in firefox when she clicks on them inside the browser window, but for some reason PDF's won't load in firefox, and we're not sure why. She's taking a class right now at ball state for her masters in early childhood development, and she's really been struggling with this since her professor sends her PDF's like crazy.
Does that functionality require Java or flash or something? otherwise we're not sure what could be causing it. sure we're missing something though.
She's so upset, ever since she got this computer about a month or two ago, she's been very unhappy with it. She hates windows 8, cuz it don't run her boardmaker software she needs for school, she's a preschool teacher and relies on boardmaker to print off pictures for the kids, but it won't run in Wondows 8. We didn't realize until after we bought this piece of junk that you can't put windows 7 on it without sacrificing a big microprocessor downgrade, so she's very upset about that.
I tell ya guys even an 8 GB upgrade the max it holds, still makes the computer as slow as molasses, saddens me too cuz I recommended this computer to her. Didn't think they sold desktop computers anymore with 1 Ghz processors, thought 3 ghz was the bare minimum anymore, mistake on my part big time. We got it from best buy, biggest purchase mistake I've made thus far. Sadly though we've had it too long to return it now.
but anyway, does running PDF's inside firefox require like some software like Java, javascript, flash, or something else we're missing? otherwise anyone have any other ideas as to why PDF's aren't loading in firefox in Windows 8.1?
What confuses me is I know Windows 8.1 has built in support for PDF's but when we discovered she couldn't open PDF's in firefox I went to the adobe website and downloaded adobe reader, which we did, but that still didn't fix the problem, now she's got 2 instances of adobe reader in there and neither one opens PDF's inside the web browser, so its frustrating
