CAC cards

I am a government employee and wish to use my CAC card reader at my house when I want to catch up on some work. I had no problems when I was using other versions of Windows, but now that I have Windows 8.1 on my computer, I find myself having to put my pin in at least ten times, not exaggerating, ten times, just to get to my email. Is there sometime of setting or trick to having to only enter it once?
