Network problems

I've just bought a NetBoot with windows 8
While configuring I could only use a 'local account'

Now the store, skydrive, camera apps will not open. I am assuming I need a Microsoft account linked to the machine.

So I tried to log in with my email address that already works on the Xbox - every time the message can't connect because of network problems.

I've run the network diagnostic with no success, I've made all updates including driver updates from the Medion driver manager.

Can anyone confirm if I.m on the right track or what should I be doing to resolve the problem.
