Hi!
My first post here, so if its in the wrong category, please move it :)
After i upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8 I have had constant problems with the USB being very unstable. Everything from the keyboard and mouse to the network adapter and USB Hard drives gets disconnected.
The Wireless adapter seem to drop out the most, sometimes as often as every 10 minute one day, and then the next day it can hold for hours. Usually it disconnects from the internet before it drops out. The wifi indicator just says "limited connection" and then after a minute or so i hear the "disconnected sound" from windows, and I have to unplug it to get it working again. Sometimes that does not work, and I have to restart the computer to get it working again. Connecting it through a powered USB hub seems to make it a bit more stable, but the problem is still there.
I have tried updating everything, downloading and re-installing the chipset drivers (which is for Windows 7).
I have not found a way to recreate the problem, it just happens totally random.
I have tried disabling the power saving features both in the power management section and in the device manager.
I have also tried unplugging all devices from the USB except one, and its the same result.
Its been like this for a couple of weeks now, and its really driving me crazy!
If anyone has any tips to come with that would be really helpful!
