Problem with Chrome browser in Win 8 mode

I have a new Lenovo ThinkPad computer and have installed Chrome. The computer has a 1920x1080 display and for some programs such as Chrome the type is not crisp and sharp. Chrome gives me the option to load it in Windows 8 mode and there the screen is very clear so I like it. The problem is that the program only uses a portion of the screen and the full Chrome browser screen is not displayed. this does not happen with other Win 8 mode programs such as Amazon or IE.

Can anyone suggest how to either fix the clarity of the type in Chrome standard mode (i.e. launched from desktop) or reset the Win 8 mode to use the full screen?
