Just sorted out a windows 8.1 machine this morning, installing a payroll system
got me thinking
Interesting that it was on 8.1 although purchased last year and because of a breavement and also internet being done (good old BT) had not used the computer , since before xmas , wondered if the 8.1 update applies automatically now , and where that may leave people for system recovery.
I have read and posted here , that if a W8 PC is updated to W8.1 then the recovery partition nolonger works -
a) just confirming is that still the case ?
b) IF an automated process update now, from 8 to 8.1 , where does that leave users who would have no idea they even needed to create recovery DVDs and now cannot do so - or use the on board partition
cheers
