I recently bought a Toshiba laptop, model C55-A5302. The fine print on the box says that this Toshiba device automatically sends data back to Toshiba and searches for updates. It came with Windows 8. How can I disable these communications? Would installing Linux over Windows fix it or did they do this in the bios?
