This is my first post here, so please be gentle :)
*background to my problems* - I build my own Pc roughly 2 years ago, only had a 120gb ssd. Installed windows 8 release preview (was free and i needed an os), some time later i upgraded to full windows 8. No problems for roughly a year.
I recently purchased and fitted a 2 TB HDD, and for about a month had no issues. Yesterday however, i could no longer access my User area, and kept being logged into a temporary user. After trying to fix this using advice found on the web (such as repairing a user profile, and creating a new user and moving across my user data).
These all failed and I decided to re-install windows 8 (this kept failing). So i moved to the release preview. I couldn't install to my ssd due to an error with an MBR partition. ( I tried deleting partitions and creating a new one). So i installed to my hdd.
This worked fine for a couple of hours. Then I started getting BSODs Memory management. (frequently I.e every 10 mins).
Next windows properly crashes and is stuck in a "automatic repair" - "automatic repair failed" loop. I cant access windows.
So once again I try re-installing. However now both my storage devices have the "windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, windows can only be installed to GPT disks."
I have looked on the web, and cant seem to do anything to fix this problem.
Is this simply a windows error ? Is it also hardware related ? can i fix it ?
Sorry if i have rambled a little (feels good getting it off my chest a bit).
I look forward to any possible advice that you could give me, and will answer any questions as best i can.
(Note) i will upload my pc specs if needed, but im away from my Pc atm.
