Windows 8 continues to throw curves. The one that has me really flummoxed is a variation of the cursor being hyper-sensitive and, at the same time, not sensitive enough. This new problem selects almost everything when I've only run the cursor over the text, not tried to select it. To unselect it, I have to very gently position the cursor in the middle of the text and tap it. This is not always easy because I have to first anchor the cursor so that the selection is fixed. This anchoring is a terrible problem in and of itself. The selection doesn't want to be selected! The old days of tapping, dragging and releasing to make a selection are gone. All of this is incredibly time-consuming and distracting. It's happened 3 times in this post alone. It also happens is almost every program I use.
Hoping someone can help me figure out what's gone haywire. My previous OS was Vista.

p.s. My system denied me permission to run SysInfo. Re: a possible virus, I've recently been through all the anti-malware protocols, both on my own and with Dell and everything else seems to be running fine.
